For inspiration, here’s how to make the most of your first—or next—luxurious escape to Dubai.

Friday

The scorching desert air hits you as you step out of your air-conditioned taxi, but it’s only a short stroll to the entrance of the stunning Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek, where you’re staying for the next two nights. Once you’re inside, it isn’t just the temperature control systems that make you feel like you’ve entered an oasis, but also the beautiful greenery decorating the entrance that belies the sand and sun outside.

Your room is fitted with all the comforts you could want and more, and it’s tempting to luxuriate in everything the hotel has to offer. However, you’re only here for a short time, so you have to make the most of it.

The first attraction you visit isn’t an architectural marvel or a retail paradise, but the Dubai Miracle Garden. Officially the world’s largest flower garden, it contains over 50 million kinds of flowers and more than 200 million species of plants—so plenty of flora to get lost in.

Once you’ve taken in the glorious greenery, you head to the famous Palm Islands. This man-made collection of islets is grouped together to resemble the tree they’re named for and is home to plenty of attractions that are well worth visiting. However, you’re keen to continue the nature theme of your morning and head to Sea Lion Point, where you can get up close and personal with the playful creatures in a safe environment.

CE LA VI Dubai

After a busy morning, you head to your table at the stunning CÉ LA VI Dubai. The rooftop bar serves up delectable pan-Asian cuisine alongside sparkling city views. Although what you can see from your table is stunning, the food is just as impressive to look at, and even more so to taste. You’ve paired it with a crisp glass of wine, too, making the meal a real indulgence.

After your meal, you head to the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, where you’re enamored by the creatures of the deep. Then, to reward yourself for a morning and early afternoon of natural highlights, you head to the world-famous Dubai Mall for some retail therapy.

Bagatelle Dubai

You shop until you’re about to drop, and soon it’s time for dinner. You pass by the hotel to drop off your haul before zooming straight to the wonderful Bagatelle Dubai. Here, you’re treated to some of the best French cuisine outside of the country, as well as live music and lip-smacking cocktails. As the night wears on, the venue is transformed into a place to dance your heart out, which you do until the 3 am closing time.

Saturday

You can’t visit Dubai without heading up the Burj Khalifa, which is exactly where you end up after a quick but tasty breakfast at the hotel. The view from the world’s tallest building is unbelievable, and even though you take a few snaps, none do it justice.

You head back down to earth and continue your tour of amazing architecture by hailing a cab to the beautiful Jumeirah Mosque. You get there just in time for the guided tour at 10 am, and you’re treated to an enlightening experience by the excellent guides. Afterwards, you spend a bit of time just wandering around the building and marveling at its beauty.

11 Woodfire Dubai

Lunch is special today because you’re at the starred 11 Woodfire. Situated in an old villa, the cuisine is modern and global, all linked together by the theme of fire. With stunning options for all dietary requirements, there’s something for everyone here, and the quality that runs through the dishes is clear to see.

After your sumptuous meal, you head to the famous historic Al Fahidi district. Built in the 18th century, this neighborhood offers a classic but still impressive alternative to the skyscrapers that dominate the city.

Sunday

You take it easy on Sunday morning with a visit to the famous Dubai Fountain, followed by a meander through the Gold Souk. You’re ending on a high with lunch at the 2-star Tresind.
